The evolution of the "BEST CELLAR PLAYERS" parallels the evolution of humankind itself. Much like a group of ancient Australopithecines coming down from the trees and forming a small group, better to survive the harsh world around them, so too did a small troupe of performers and artists (Thespianaii-nomadicus) band together to seek solace and support among ourselves.

And like our primitive ancestors - this small group led a tenuous and migratory existence. Like them, we were hunter gatherers. Always hunting for a gathering in need of entertainment. Traveling wherever we could in search of the one thing that would sustain us - an audience and their applause. Wherever we found them we would don our costumes and perform shows. But then it would be time to move on, looking for the next opportunity to entertain. And so it went for several years.

But then in the fall of 2006 the next evolutionary breakthrough occurred. The troupe found a small, uninhabited cave-like place. Oh sure, it was dim and dark and rough around the edges. It was a basement. But the troupe saw it's potential, saw the chance to cease wandering and put down roots. And so the troupe evolved to the next level (Thespianaii-Neanderthal). And with our hopes high we claimed the space and named the troupe "THE BEST CELLAR PLAYERS."

And Like those early cave dwellers, our troupe has transformed the once crude surroundings by decorating the walls with colors and images, and adding a snack bar.

And so we now have a place to draw the audience to us rather than pursuing them, and the time to hone our skills and sharpen our tools of comedy and drama, the better to entertain the audiences who come. And so "THE BEST CELLAR PLAYERS" wander no more and look forward to what the future holds. We have gone from Nomadicus to Neanderthal, can Thespianaii - Cro-Magnon be far behind?
